This policy explains how MowGul Inc collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use our website, mobile apps, and related services.
1. Who We Are
MowGul Inc ("MowGul," "we," "us," or "our") operates a lawn care marketplace that connects Customers with independent Providers. This Privacy Policy applies to our website at mowgul.com, our iOS and mobile applications, and related online services.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: you provide it, it is generated through your use of the Platform, and we receive it from service providers or public sources.
Account & contact information
- Name, email address, phone number, and password (stored in hashed form through our auth provider)
- Customer or business profile details
- Notification preferences (email, SMS, push where available)
Booking & property information
- Service address and precise geolocation coordinates
- Lot size, parcel boundaries, map-drawn lawn areas, grass height, terrain, and add-on selections
- Quotes, bookings, arrival windows, recurring plan settings, and service history
- Gate codes, access notes, and special instructions you choose to provide
Payment information
- Payment card details are collected and processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.
- We may store card brand, last four digits, Stripe customer/payment identifiers, transaction amounts, refunds, and payout records
Provider business information
- Business name, service area, pricing rules, availability, equipment, and team member access
- Insurance or verification documents you upload for review
- Stripe Connect account and payout status
Communications & content
- In-app messages between Customers and Providers, including attachments
- Reviews, ratings, dispute submissions, and support correspondence
- Before-and-after job photos and property photos uploaded to the Platform
Device, cookie & usage information
- IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and general usage data
- Cookies and similar technologies, including authentication/session cookies and a guest identity cookie used before account creation
- Local storage used for booking drafts and product preferences
- Google Analytics data about how visitors use our site
- reCAPTCHA signals used to protect forms from abuse
3. How We Use Information
- Provide quotes, bookings, scheduling, messaging, and customer/provider portals
- Process payments, holds, captures, refunds, and provider payouts
- Match Customers with Providers based on location, service area, and availability
- Verify accounts, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms
- Send transactional emails and notifications about bookings and account activity
- Send promotional communications where permitted and subject to your opt-out choices
- Improve the Platform, troubleshoot issues, and develop new features
- Comply with law, respond to legal requests, and protect rights and safety
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:
- With matched Providers or Customers: To fulfill a booking, we share contact details, service address, property/service information, messages, and relevant job updates with the other party and authorized team members.
- Service providers: We use vendors that process data on our behalf, including:
- Stripe — payments and payouts
- Supabase — authentication, database, file storage, and realtime features
- Google — Maps/Places autocomplete, map display, reCAPTCHA, and Analytics
- TomTom — map imagery and geospatial previews for provider tools
- Public parcel/GIS data providers — lot and boundary information for quoting
- Email delivery providers — transactional messages
- Hosting and infrastructure providers
- Legal and safety: When required by law, subpoena, or to protect users, Providers, Customers, or MowGul.
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to customary protections.
5. Cookies & Analytics
We use essential cookies and local storage for login sessions, security, and core product functionality. We also use Google Analytics to understand site traffic and usage trends.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. To opt out of Google Analytics across many sites, visit Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Disabling cookies may limit some Platform features.
6. Mobile Applications
Our mobile apps may request device permissions such as notifications, camera/photo library access for job photos, and location-related features that support mapping and service delivery. You can manage permissions in your device settings. Mobile apps generally collect the same categories of information described above.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including:
- Active account and booking records while your account remains open and as needed to provide services
- Payment, tax, and accounting records for periods required by law (often several years)
- Dispute, fraud, and legal hold records until resolved
- Support communications for a reasonable period to resolve issues and improve service
- Analytics data according to our analytics provider settings
When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it subject to backup, legal, and security requirements.
8. Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. Payment card data is handled by PCI-compliant processors. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Choices & Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete certain information, subject to legal and operational exceptions
- Opt out of promotional emails using unsubscribe links or account settings
- Opt in or out of SMS notifications where that feature is offered
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, without affecting prior lawful processing

10. U.S. State Privacy Notice
Residents of certain states, including Virginia and California, may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws such as the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA) or California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including rights to know, access, delete, correct, and opt out of certain processing.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by California law. If our practices change, we will update this policy and provide required notices.
You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf where permitted by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
11. Children's Privacy
The Platform is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
12. International Users
MowGul is based in the United States and processes information in the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the U.S., you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the U.S., which may have different data protection laws than your country.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The Effective Date at the top indicates the latest revision. Material changes may be communicated by email, in-app notice, or Platform posting. Please review this policy periodically.
